Booking a Milestone Session

There can be many questions when it comes to booking a milestone session. I want to make sure and go over a few things to help answer any questions you might have regarding a future milestone session with Freebird Photography.

When Should I Book My Milestone Session?

A good time to do a milestone session is when your baby is starting to smile or show personality, starting to sit unassisted, or starting to stand propped or unassisted.  You can do a milestone whenever you’d like, it’s just easier when they have some head control. It can be a challenge to do milestone sessions at 2-3 months old and between 12 and 18 months, but it is still worth it!

The best time to book your session would be 1-3 months in advance. I keep my bookings low each month to be sure I can give quality attention to each session so it is always a good idea to book weeks ahead of time if you are able.

You will want to avoid booking around the time of your Child’s well-check (if they are getting shots). I promise you, they never seem to be their normal self 3-7 days after shots and this will affect the outcome of the pictures/session in a negative way.

Do I Need to Bring Anything?

Yes and/or No. 🙂 I have lots of props, but if you want something specific or special to you feel free to bring it! I have a client closet for ages Newborn to 2 years. You are welcome to use your own outfits for your milestone session or to use anything from my client closet. I do send out a questionnaire before the session to give you an idea of outfits available at the studio. I have a separate questionnaire for boys and girls. Below is a preview of the girl’s questionnaire:

I would love to work with you!

I hope to work with you and I hope that some of your questions were answered here, but if not feel free to navigate to the home page and send me a message with any additional questions you might have.
